Pushups, pull ups, core/ab workout of choice which should include flexibility like yoga or Pilates, run. No gym. You don’t have to do all every day. But just do something.

If you're raging, then you need to lay off the steroids, and/or he hit an uncomfortable nerve.

The iron is to sharpen the iron. Not to melt into an idol you kneel to. I know this well as an artist: You need focus to create, and to lift. You only have so much.
